--- Stock Photography Model Information ---
All of my stock photography work is TFFI (Trade For Finished Images). This works out great for aspiring models trying to build a portfolio of commercial quality images and for non-models that are willing to trade their time for professional portraits in a lifestyle type setting. (This is a $365 value if you were to hire me)
All models are required to sign model releases to allow their images to be used for advertising.
I get a lot of questions about how ones images are used. Generally images are used in publications, advertisements, travel brochures, commercial web sites, promotions and such. The stock agency that I work with specifically prohibits - and strictly enforces - that images are not used in any way that may defamatory to the model.
Another question that I get from models is will they know when and were their images are used. The answer to that question is "no". I do not have access to that information once the stock agency license the image to a user.
What should you expect?
- If you are local, I will try to meet with you in person before the shoot to go over the details, otherwise we will communicate over the phone or via e-mail.
- Most sessions are 2 - 3 hours long
- The model generally supplies her wardrobe (we will discuss prior to the shoot what you should bring)
- I do not use make-up artists and we will discuss make-up prior to the shoot.
- We will discuss the theme of the shoot prior to shooting as well.
- You will generally receive 2 - 3 color corrected and balanced images per wardrobe change after the shoot for your personal use.
- I will have your images ready for you in less than 3 business days. Most images are mailed to the models, but some prefer to pick up the CD in person.
Things to keep in mind - I retain all copy right to the images so you are not allowed to sell or license the images that you receive in any way. Reproductions for your portfolio, prints for loved ones and family or using your images on Facebook or MySpace are all perfectly acceptable.
Note - on rare occasions I do pay a modest hourly rate to professional models if they have a unique look that I need for a particular theme. I pay in full after the shoot is completed and those models do not receive prints since they have been paid for their services (this is rare, but if you think you have a look I would be interested in, please contact me).
That's about it. If you are interested, please click the "Contact Me" link at the top of the page and we can talk about setting up a shoot.
